Warm Spiced Plum Sauce Over Vanilla Ice Cream

With the perfect blend of sweet plums, cinnamon, cloves, and a touch of ginger, this sauce brings a rich, warming depth of flavor to drizzle over ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb. Plums
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions

  1. Add sliced plums (pits and stems removed) to a pot along with sugar, vanilla, star anise, cinnamon, and water and bring to a simmer.
  2. Let simmer until plums have softened and the liquid looks syrupy, about 10-15 min.
  3. Remove the star anise from the mixture and add the rest of the cooked plum mixture to a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Alternatively you can use an immersion blender.
  4. Serve desired amount warm over vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

 

Note: This plum syrup will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Can simply reheat when ready to serve.
